Server official start, addressing a few points.

Hey everyone.

I was recently at an RAF base and forgot to tell you all, that's why I have been away a few days.
I have a few announcements and rules to address.

Server Upkeep:

I don't really want to be shelling out loads of money for the server. To be honest, I have other things to buy.
However, I will always have enough money for 1 GB of RAM. This will be the servers baseline amount. If someone donates, I will do one of three things.

1. Increase the RAM on the server immediately(or in the next fiscal month).
2. Invest in advertising for Iota
3. Buy an actual web domain

So the server RAM will be increased above 1 GB depending on donations. If, however, 1 GB is absolutely not enough, I may upgrade to 2 if it is needed.

Website:

If I am honest, I don't like using this website. I have the skills to design a website and forum myself and would love to. However there are costs. You can see these costs at http://uk2.net and http://godaddy.com. This is for domain hosting only. I would also love to buy CloudFlare protection. If any of you are interested, the forum will be MyBB and will link to a separate domain than the site.

Buying the domain is reasonably inexpensive, but paying for a server to host it can be a lot of money. I am in the process of finding a cheap hosting solution now.

I just added this section so you would have an idea of where your donations willl/do go.

Griefing:

Let me be clear. Griefing is not allowed. There have been spats of griefing recently and all people involved have been tempbanned. I work off a one chance basis right now. Grief once for a 10-14 day ban. Twice is permanent unless it is a minor infringement.

Release:

Iota will go public soon. So everyone knows there will be 3 staff members for now. Me, Zwrawr and Poenster. I am considering having only one staff rank and I want your opinion on that so PM me on here or skype and let me know.
I just am installing a few last minute plugins and setting us up on voting sites, then we will be ready to go!

Is PvP still enabled?

What about the factions/raiding idea?

Pvp is still enabled. Killing is allowed, stealing items is not unless agreed by both sides.

Fac/Raiding idea is nice but I doubt people will enjoy it like awecome, and I want people to play here. I may have a separate raiding map though.

I think that if you had both friendly, old fashion survival and fun, popular factions/raiding maps, the server would definitely get a boost in players. I'm sure that the factions side would really grab more attention on sites like planetminecraft or Minecraft server list and I dought that people that come for factions won't take part in the normal map.
